After Chak De India, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal is another movie based on sports. Infact the success of Chak De India has also helped in building the excitement for the movie Goal. Beside the story, another attraction of the movie GOAL is the real life love pair - Bipasha Basu and John Abraham and a passionate kiss scene between them. The movie has been shot mostly in United Kingdom and Spain. The movie has been promoted to be raising the issues of racism and other sports related issues mostly prominent in the westerners. The movie is about achieving the impossible, from absolute no-hope to glory.
Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal Story
Shaan Ali Khan (Arshad Warsi) is the captain of The Southall United Football team. The team is in a deep crisis with no quality players, lacks sponsors and has very few supporters. The football stadium is under lease with substantial amount of dues, the Southall United team is in a do-or-die situation. They have to win the Combined Counties Football League to save the ground and the club. Shaan with the help of Coach Tony Singh (Boman Irani) takes up the challenge and leads the bunch of players who lack focus and determination.
Sunny Bhasin (John Abraham) is a very good football player but his dreams crash when he was not selected by the club. Reason… The color of his skin! Tony Singh convinced Sunny for joining the Southall United team. Unfortunately, Sunny and Shaan cannot stand each other. On the other hand, Shaan’s sister and Southall United physio Rumana (Bipasha Basu) is in love with Sunny. Inspite of the mess that they are in, the team grows under the able guidance of the coach. Then enter the villian, Johny Bakshi (Dalip Tahil) who lures Sunny out of the team just before the 2 most crucial matches.
Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal Review
The first half of the movie just opens up the story and keeps you imagining for the next half of the story and the second half of the movie is very interesting and exciting. The last 30 minutes of the movie are excellent. The music of the movie is very catchy.
John Abraham is good and perfect for this role. Arshad Warsi is also present throughout the movie and has done a brilliant job here. Boman Irani in a role that demands aggression and intensity is good. Bipasha Basu looks sexy throughout, acts well although her role is limited. Dalip Tahil and the rest of the football players support ably.
The movie is overall good to watch but the competitors Om Shanti Om will retain it position in the chart and its popularity is not going to get effected by this movie.
Rating: 3/5

Welcome Movie - Akshay Again in Comedy Role

-- Welcome --
Producer: Firoz A. Nadiadwala
Director: Aneez Bazmee
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Feroz Khan, Paresh Rawal and Mallika Sherawat
Music: Himesh Reshammiya/Anand Raj Anand
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release: December 21, 2007
Welcome is another comic caper movie for Akshay after his recent hits - Heyy Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The director and story writer of the film Anees Bazmee has already proved his comic skills in the movies like Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004) and No Entry. Anees Bazmee’s last movie ‘No Entry’ starring Anil Kapoor and Lara Dutta was a blockbuster comedy movie in 2005.
This movie has continued the latest trend of shooting the bollywood films in the foreign locations. Welcome’s most of the shooting is done in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and some parts in Lonawala (India). Let’s read a brief note on what the movie is all about.
Majnu (Anil Kapoor), Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) and their boss, Sikander (Feroz Khan) are basically three Hong Kong-based serio-comic mobsters, who are keen to get their sister Sanjana (Katrina Kaif) married into a respectable family.
Once Uday accidentally meets the handsome bachelor Rajiv (Akshay Kumar) and get convinced that he would be an appropriate match for Sanjana. However, Rajiv's uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo (Paresh Rawal) disapproves of Uday's association with a dubious family.
Meanwhile, Sanjana meets Rajiv on a cruise and they fall in love. She was totally unaware of her brother's plans. She has the acceptance of Dr. Ghunghroo, who is unaware of the fact that she is the sister of the mafia. When Dr. Ghunghroo realizes his faux pas, he tries to escape the fury of the brothers.
This fall-down funny comedy takes another turn when a stunning bomb (Mallika Sherawat) who claims to be Rajiv’s fiancĂ©e shows up on the scene and adds to the hullabaloo and chaos.
We all hope that this movie will again be a big hit for Akshay. Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif had already worked together in Namaste London. The movie ‘Welcome’ is releasing on the same day December 21, 2007 with Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Tare Zameen Par and Rajkumar Santoshi’s Halla Bol.
